The glory of true love, peace to all, and I want to see the whole world burn. It is the quiet shadow world that intrigues me, the dark places that sit in my soul. I have a difficult time with joyful moments, for they come so easy, and then I need more. There is no end to the craving, I could consume the entire earth and still feel my tummy rumble. I am the very hungriest caterpillar, and I am never happy. It is the singularity of this idea that enraptures me, as if that small point of dread was a black pearl glaring at me from the palm of my hand. The all-encompassing darkness is composed of the entire universe with no obtainable center, it is disorienting to say the least. I may be up, over, down and out, but to where I drift, I have no agency. Black is all colors but, in the consumption and manipulation, it becomes nothing. By consuming all the joys of the colorful universe only an empty soul remains. In this singular light, more and more are consumed by the vast difference of spectrum. I cannot be satisfied because there are never enough. It makes me sad to think of what can never be.
If all the color in the world can’t satisfy me, what will? I could take the moments as they come and expect no more from the universe, but they would perverse my journey of seeking a greater and higher meaning to my life. I could try to collect these moments of bliss in my life and let them sing in harmony rather than jumble together and blacken. However, the world inevitably takes its course, and I have little agency over the journey or even my own perception of the world about me. It is the captivating little pearl, and I just can not take my gaze off it. I just can’t help it, I would like to see the whole world burn.
