Life's a Line

Stop signs (all six!), college ruled, single spaced. Concrete, filled with unwavering rebar, nobody gets through. How do you know? The whimsy of today blotted out by the demands of tomorrow. Who do you answer to, the royal lineage? Light streams into our cage, faithful guiding bands. Lined up in front of the prison bars. You crossed the line! This is my lifeline! I’m at the end of my line! Now in a single filed line I ask you, where did this ever get anybody? You know where. Down the rotten line. Next!
The guidelines all say so. You must do this, must do that. Fig wack, AI that. How enticing is the perfect line that continues forever. To whom do I have the pleasure of speaking to? It’s very nice to meet you, Doctor Brown. The straight and narrow. Every line goes somewhere, everywhere was somewhere, so where is everywhere?
Oh wait.
Could it be?
Here?
Lines line up with other lines, they are good for all, including you. You must understand. No room for the riff raff, the crooked blokes. Walk the plank, k-5, 6-9, 9-12, who do you appreciate? The longest straw has the divine right of kings; the royal lineage has an order straight from above. Feel free to wait, at the end of the line. What is this line for? It does not matter. The king of hearts ate his tart to do his part. The kingdom folds, says the house. Pyramids are built point down, designed to collapse.
Air is fresh out the box, so they say. Well, who says, do I say? Such an evil, wicked evil, box. I must pay for this box, with my life. God forbid, coloring outside of the lines. You could, for a price. You must be a simple masochist, no reason for such decisions. I stomp your box and run. Chaos, anarchy and death, the fear of all man. Chaos is the only place I can sit still, now all follows. This can’t end, so must I? Two points make a line, but there are so many more! I cannot ignore this fact. There is more to come.
GET TO THE POINT! Straighten out. THWHACCCHHHKKK! More chaos, the motion of perfection. The line drive of all line drives. Exactly where I want, where they want. The sun turns out, just below our horizon.
