Brain Monkey craved information. Venturing to the earth’s four corners, the glorious heights of Heaven, and the fiery pits of Hell, he sought data points. He desperately connected these points with aspirations of fame and glory, but when he took a step back and cast his eyes upon the image he constructed, he beheld the twisted image of pure evil. He knew it all along. Hail Satan.
He may have been a respectable Pagan, a devout Jew, or a Sunday morning man. He would have respected his neighbors and community and would not have bothered to look outside. Every moment would have been for him, his family, his community. But Brain Monkey has absorbed a wealth of knowledge and no longer needs to heed the wild mountain cats or the dreadful cold. He paved over all signs of danger, and for safe measures, vaccinated against it. No longer does he fear God. But Brain Monkey does not stop here, for the sweet taste of knowledge swells on the back of his tongue. The enemy’s presence is ever lurking and he must anticipate. More is necessary.
Brain Monkey devoted his life to paving over the planet, so that nothing could bring him harm. Life suffocated under his tyranny, and the tree of knowledge withered away. Triumphantly, he planted an orchard to gorge upon, however it was planted on wasted soil, and only trees of rot broke ground. They grew mangled limbs and bore fruit of the most wicked nature. And so, the fruit consumed Brain Monkey. His mind was ravaged by evil, drawing forth illusions of wealth and grandeur. His illusions grew so vivid, he no longer remembered the world he left behind. The more he consumed, the more powerful he became. The higher he soared.
Far above the clouds, Brain Monkey was alone. Void of love and connection, he cried for help. He cried for forgiveness. But his cries were in vain, for the clouds stifled any desperate attempts of repentance. Like the rogue birthday ballon, all hope was abandoned. Those who fly among the clouds must keep a watchful eye on the ground below.
